Who We Are

Faces you know and trust. We live where we work. Our team has a vested interest in the financial success of every individual, family and business in the communities we call home.

Our Story

Minster Bank has been building the financial strength of local communities since 1914. Throughout Northwest Ohio, we guide individuals, families, and businesses through their unique financial journey with solutions that last a lifetime.

The history of our institution begins on January 27, 1914, when the Minster State Bank was organized with 31 local incorporators and $25,000 in capital stock. Headquarters were established on West 4th Street in downtown Minster, just a few paces from where our corporate offices now stand.

The bank’s first president was John W. Eiting, who would go on to helm the Ohio-based manufacturing enterprise currently known as Midmark. The local paper predicted that this new financial institution would “soon count as a valuable asset for the citizens of Minster and vicinity,” and within five years, the bank had attracted $400,000 in deposits (over $12 million in 2024 buying power).

Pursuing a policy of “steady but sure advancement,” the bank grew in place on West 4th Street until 1977, when we broke ground on our first branch location in New Bremen. The ensuing decades would see the adoption of our current name and emblem, the opening of five more branches across the region, the growth of our deposits to over $650 million, and the expansion of our team to over 80 employees.

Today, Minster Bank is proud to offer a comprehensive array of personal and business banking, lending, and wealth management solutions, with powerful 24/7 digital tools and a nationwide network of ATMs to complement our attentive local service.

Our founders set the course for a strong banking institution that would guide our communities through times of prosperity and times of need. Over 110 years later, our promise remains the same: When you bank close, you can go far.
